Attestation from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA)
Procedure:
All original documents requiring an Apostille, Embassy Attestation. Certificate must first be certified by the competent authorities of the State where the document was issued. In the case of personal documents, the designated authorities are the home department / general administration service. In the case of educational documents, the documents must be ratified first by the education department of the State / Territory of that Union. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs certifies the documents on the basis of the signature of the designated governmental authorities of the State / State / Chambers of Commerce of the Union. Therefore, it does not assume responsibility for the content of the documents. Commercial Documents:
Commercial Documents are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Commerce before these can be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Apostille:
India is a member of the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, abolishing the requirement to legalize foreign public documents. Apostille is accepted in 111 member countries of the Convention – see the list (https://www.embassyattestation.co.in/useful-links/hague-apostille-member-countries.php). Appostille is addressed to personal documents such as birth / death / marriage certificates, affidavits, proxies, etc., as well as educational documents such as diplomas, diplomas, enrollments and high school certificates, etc.
Documents required for Educational/Personal certificate attestation for MEA Attestation:
Only the original documents duly certified by the designated government government authorities are headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Apostille is located at the back of the original document. Candidates must submit the following documents / fees
- Original document for certification or apostiller
- Clearly a photocopy of the document
- A clear photocopy of the passport
Documents can be deposited in our “Collection & Delivery” counters between 10:30 and 18:00 from Monday to Saturday except for holidays. Documents can be deposited and recovered in person or through an authorized representative. Documents are handed over / refunded only upon receipt of proof of payment of service charges. However, if the document is considered at any stage as forgery or tampering, the same applies to the Department of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry may also initiate the appropriate legal proceedings against the applicant. Service charges paid to us or to the Department of Foreign Affairs can not be refunded in any way.

i) MOFA of UAE

iii) MOFA of Saudi Arabia
