Iceland Embassy attestation is needed when one fetches a job or residence permit in Iceland. Iceland is not like other gulf countries. It accepts Apostille procedure as well. You have to follow Iceland Embassy Attestation procedure, however it is time-consuming and documentation is difficult as well, specifically when one requires attestation of Iceland Embassy on a degree certificate. Companies ask their employees to complete the apostille procedure. These procedures are detailed below.
Iceland Sultanate accepts apostille of any documents or certificates. The procedure is similar as SDM apostille or HRD Apostille. It can be done on documents or certificates which can’t get HRD from concerned state.

| Normal procedure for Embassy Attestation is between 15 and 20 days. However, this does not include educational certificates. | |
| Fast procedure for Embassy Attestation might take between 10 and 15 days. However, this does not include educational certificates. |
| If Apostille is on a certificate then there is no requirement for Iceland Embassy Attestation. And, in a similar way, if certificates have Iceland Embassy Attestation then Apostille is not required. | |

When you submit certificates to embassy, it further asks for verification from the concerned universities. Verification request is sent to the university to which it has to reply. Embassy culture Department attests the documents only if it founds verification correct.
