Commercial Documents are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Commerce before these can be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs.

APOSTILLE:

India is a member of the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, abolishing the requirement to legalize foreign public documents. However, if the document is considered at any stage as forgery or tampering, the same applies to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
